The corpus under examination consists of the four gospels in the "Nova Vulgata" edition available on the Vatican website.

In order to explore the similarity/dissimilarity relationships between the content of the four gospels, we first used the Correspondence Analysis.
With this, we automatically obtained the following map:

In the map, each point indicates the "position" of one of the four gospels.

The two-dimensional space is organized along two axes (X-horizontal, Y-vertical) which, just as with topographical maps, represent the "compass points" (north-south, east-west) and therefore help to orientate the interpretation.
In statistical terms, the two axes are factors.

In T-LAB, every correspondence analysis provides tables that serve to interpret the factors and the similarity/dissimilarity relationships within the two-dimensional areas.

In this case, we limit ourselves to finding that the gospel of IOANNes turns out to be very different from the others.

Secondly, we have used the Specificities tool.
For each subset of the corpus, this serves to identify which words constitute its characteristics, on the basis of their over-use or under-use in relation to the corpus under examination.

The tables that follow show the words over-used in the four gospels.
NB: in every table, the numerical values are those of the CHI square.

Subsequently, using the Associations function, we explored the contexts of meanings relating to three key-words: regnum, crucifigere, deus.

In the three graphs, the words examined are placed in the center and all the others are distributed around them, each at a distance proportional to its degree of association.

In other words, the meaningful relationships are only those between the central words and each of the others: for each, the proximity to the center indicates the degree of association with the central word within the same phrases (the elementary contexts).

For every graph T-LAB provides one table with the relevant association indices.

Finally, with the Concordances tool we precisely examined the elementary contexts in which some words are used.

A click on each segment allows us to view the elementary context of reference. Also, it is possible to export a file with all the selected elementary contexts.
